In a Herculean effort to be the most re-designed site on the web, isambarde.co.uk has been um… re-designed.
For those that may be interested (this is people who get kicks from reading computer manuals, so very few I should imagine) the site is now web standards compliant with massively improved accessibility. If you are really interested head on over to http://www.w3.org and have a read. Oh, it also looks better. Let us know what you think! Site designed by sugarytea

To herald the arrival of Isambarde’s new opus ‘Barnstorming’ (available at the end of May), the website has had a bit of an overhaul.
Among the new features is the addition of an Isambarde shop! It is now possible to obtain shiny plastic discs of music using shiny bits of plastic (or credit cards). There have also been whispers within the band, of the possibility of t-shirt shaped merchandise items…
Keep watching!

Exciting new projects ahoy!
Isambarde will be teaming up with Vicki Swan (Scottish smallpipes, flute, double bass) and Jonny Dyer (Guitar, piano accordion) to form an exhilarating new big band. We’d all been batting the idea around for a while, until the organiser of Miskin Folk Festival thought it would be a good idea (seeing as how we were all booked there) to join up for a group effort on the Sunday night concert - eek! We managed to snatch an emergency rehearsal an hour or so before the gig. Somehow, the event was a success, and it fired us all up to do it again; erm, this time with advanced notice and a little more rehearsal time! The big band has yet to be named – any suggestions gratefully received.
Keep an eye on our gig list (and/or Vicki and Jonny’s) for further details...
In other news:
Isambarde will be going all 21st Century. Watch out for new methods of buying our album via PayPal, and possible ways of downloading our old deleted album – coming soon!
and finally...
OK. ok... revised estimated new-album-arrival-time is end of May - fingers crossed!

We thought you might want to know that the new Is-album (although still not ready) has now got itself a name. 'Barnstorming'. You may also want to know that at least one year behind the rest of the gigging world, Isambarde has finally cottoned on, and got itself a 'MySpace'. If you're not sure what one of those is, then go to www.myspace.com/isambarde and have a look. It is still under construction, so please be patient with it!

Phew! Almost there... February is album mixing month. If all goes well, we are hoping that the new album will be available mid April. We have some super-hot guest musicians appearing on the album - although we're going to keep you guessing so that you buy a copy! Oh alright: if you look really hard, it says who, somewhere on the website..!
P.S. Happy New Year n' all that.

Isambarde are spending the long dark weekends of October and beyond back in the small cosy studios at Blue Moon. As always, chocolate, strong coffee and roll ups are the order of the day. If you have any ideas for an album title, then we would direct you to the joys of the Isambarde discussion forum (see menu button on left) where you will be free to vent, philosophise and blather to your hearts content. As you are no-doubt already aware, venting, philosophising and blathering are what Isambarde do best. Ta ta for now.

Hello, we have been having some problems with the mailing list and as such, anyone who attempted to join in the last two weeks might have had their form sucked into the ether never to be seen again...
If you have joined the mailing list in the last fortnight could you please do so again just so we are sure that we have your details.
Sorry for the inconvenience

Hello out there...
There has been a slight re-design to the site including some whizzy new graphics! Our favourite addition to the site can been found on the CONTACT page. Artist Sarah Tann-Watson created stunningly detailed and alarmingly accurate reproductions of Chris, Emily and Jude at work using the "biro on back of flyer" medium.

*Sniff* Cloudstreet have gone back to Oz... Isambarde will try not to sulk too much as they will (hopefully) be back next summer - phew! However, lest we not forget them, Cloudstreet have kindly given us a quote to add to our publicity material (Note to Nicole and John: you can have your tenner when you come back to the UK - ha!)
"Isambarde sing and play with a fabulous energy and an amazing array of musical talents. Fiddle, guitar and oboe sustain their voices through a wonderful collection of songs and tunes. We love their music (and they're good fun to boot!)."

Vin Garbutt has asked Isambarde to be support band for his annual bash in Middlesbrough Town Hall. After coming to, the band agreed that they could fit a trip to Middlesbrough into their busy schedules, although Chris would have to cancel his yearly bath. In an attempt to maintain a VG stalking campaign, the band will also be following him to The Davy Lamp Folk Club where they may perpetrate a floorspot.
For their next trick, Isambarde are playing a double bill with the unstoppable Cloudstreet at the Fletch Folk Club on Tuesday the 14th of September along with surprise guests Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer (except they're not surprise guests anymore because we've just told you!) Support will be provided by the estimable Mr Malc Gurnham and it will doubtless end in all of us playing something together (hopefully the same song). Cloudstreet are heading back Down Under in October so this is one of the last chances you'll have to see them while they're still cheap, as Jacey Bedford's taken them over for next summer. Isambarde also need cash as we're saving up to send Jude to Lilliput on holiday so she can feel big for a couple of weeks. Please tell all of your friends and relatives, and if you're so inclined, please toddle on down yourselves!
Overall, it's been a hectic but fun and rewarding summer festival season. We would all like to thank the festival organisers, audience members, fellow performers (notably Cloudstreet, Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer, Vin Garbutt and PJ Wright), friends, family and everyone who has helped us along the way. On a foody note, special thanks goes out to the Burrito people who kept the band going through many a festival hunger!
Cheers all
Jude, Chris and Emily x

Isambarde's next outing is at Coventry's FREE arts and music festival, Godiva. Isambarde will be kicking off the Sunday concert (1pm) at The Rootz Tent and will be spending the rest off the festival wandering around (no doubt near the beer tent) in medieval costume in conjunction with the Lives, Times and Tales Tent. Despite the name of the festival and due to popular demand, Isambarde will be keeping their clothes resolutely on for the duration of the Godiva weekend! www.godivafestival.co.uk

All those lucky people who make it to The Tin Angel in Coventry on the 9th of June will witness Lorna (ex Isambarde) and Chris (sadly still with us - we can't get rid of the old mucker) performing their original material and a few covers. It looks set to be a fantastic (and free) evening, so arrive early because Jude from the band will already be hogging the minimal sofa space...
