Isambarde

Info - History

JUDE REES

Jude

Jude started playing the oboe at the age of twelve after being locked in the music store cupboard for an afternoon.

Jude studied music at Birmingham Conservatoire and left there with a Bmus honours degree and a Master of Arts under her belt.

Being musically fickle has enabled Jude to showcase her talents in a multiplicity of styles and settings from contemporary free-style improvisation and composition through to classical music. Folk music proved a beguiling opening in her career as it offered freer access to whiskey than other forms of music making.

"ISAMBARDE are a folk band with tremendous energy and enthusiasm. They are the unusual and winning combination of Chris's driving guitar, Emily's incisive fiddle playing and Jude's lyrical oboe coupled with great full on vocal harmonies. They play a great set and are an asset to any festival bill. Book 'em!!"

"Isambarde are a really good young band. They’re good to listen to, good to look at and it’s very obvious that they enjoy performing.”
VIN GARBUT

“Driving acoustic guitar rythms woven together by silken melodies on oboe and fiddle.”
CATH MUNDY and JAY TURNER
